Building the Early Church

In RE we have been learning about life in the early church.  We have looked at how things were for the early church communities and at some of more famous characters of the time.   We have learned that the people in the early church faced lots of challenges, many getting arrested and even dying for their faith.  Paul started out persecuting the early Christians but once he changed his ways he travelled to help start new communities.  We looked at some maps of the Middle East at the time Paul made his journeys and then we used Google Maps to see how things have changed or not.  It was really interesting looking at the terrain using google maps and we got a good idea of the challenges Paul and his friends would have faced.  We found that lots of the original places he visited are not marked on modern English maps or have different names. We were able to have a good look at some places that he did visit though like Paphos which is in Cyprus.
