A lever is a simple machine and an incline plane, which allows you to trade increased distance for increased effort of force, by doubling the distance you can half the force and move anything.
For example let say their is a see-saw a fat guy and a slim guy the slim guy hops on the see-saw and them the fat guy come along and sits on the other side as soon as he sit on the slim guy goes flying up into the sky, their is a way you could solve that problem. The middle of the see-saw is called a fulcrum you could have asked the fat guy to move closer to the fulcrum, or you could have moved one end of the seats closer to the fulcrum.
Movement is really boiled down to the same thing, you see the support that the seats are resting on well that has a special word to it its a fulcrum like I have already said, anyway when the fat guy moves closer to that fulcrum of whether you move him closer to the fulcrum the result is the same distance between the fulcrum and the fat guy becomes less than the distance between the slim guy. so thats the secret what you can do if you ever bump into a fat guy on the see-saw.
