Wheels, Wheels, Wheels

What a day! There were wheels of all descriptions everywhere. Bicycles, unicycles, skateboards, ripsticks, scooters, you name it, someone brought one. Nearly everyone in our class had 'wheels' and we had great fun hurtling around the courts and footy field.

After we had totally worn ourselves out Dillon, Bella and Finn L brought their bikes into our classroom so we could have a really good look at how a bike works.

Did you know that a bike is really a machine that makes work easier (as all good machines should)?

It is actually a machine that is made up of other machines such as levers, wheels and gears. The interesting thing is that bicycles are made of mainly levers. The handlebars, cranks and brakes are all levers and even the wheels are special levers.
