Marae Experience

On Monday (Week 4) the whole school was involved in an Maori cultural experience. We all took part in a powhiri (experiencing both being the tangata whenua and the manuhiri). When we not involved in the powhiri we worked in groups learning how to play Maori stick games, art and weaving. We spent the whole day with our Whanau group Puriri (Rooms 1, 8,10 and 19). We had a great time learning new things and spending time working with children from other classes. Here are some photos of the day. Enjoy.
