Flag Ceremony

Yesterday, we had a special flag raising ceremony because we have a brand new flag.  Our old flag was worn out and needed replacing.  Raising the flag happens everyday at our school and we have flag monitors who make sure this happens.  Part of the ceremony involved the flag monitors making the following pledge:
'We, the S Francis Xavier flag monitors, pledge to carry our our duty responsibly and with respect.  We will treat the New Zealand flag with care, as it is a symbol of our nationhood'.  We also sang our National Anthem and the song, 'Maori Battalion March to Victory'. (Click on the song name to hear it).  It was a special time and thanks to Mrs Gunson for organising the ceremony for us.
