Turangawaewae
Transfer Task
The jigsaw pieces represent each student in Room 16 as an individual. The puzzles themselves are an image to show that we are all connected in some way. We are all connected to our turangawaewae even though they are different. We are all connected through our love of God. We are all connected because we are part of the St Francis Xavier Catholic School family, Rimu whanau and of course Room 16.
If you look closely at each jigsaw piece you will see three different parts. The painting on the jigsaw piece is of the maunga and awa that we identify with. The acrostic poem is to show what turangawaewae means to us. The background behind the writing may have an image of the place that is our turangawaewae or it may be in colour ways that we felt would enhance our art work. The QR code is a direct link to a video of each us reciting us pepeha. You will see that everyone one is standing in from of an image of our maunga or awa. We did this by using a green screen and laying our videos over the image.
If you have a QR reader, you will be able to hear us reciting our pepeha.
Mum LOVES these so much. It was great fun doing them especially with the coolest teacher ever.
