Foldouts
In Room 20 we have been learning about narratives. A narrative is a story that is made up or is not a true story. In Room 20 we have decided to make foldouts. A foldout is like a brochure except this time it is about a narrative that we have read.
Before we began we had to find a narrative story from a journal. Then we had to read it and make sure no one else had the same story as you. After reading we had to make a draft out of it.
The things we had to draft were...
Plot analysis: This is short summary the story.
Theme:What the message of the story is.
If only: I wish this happened in the story...
Physical characteristics: What our favourite character looks like.
Character analysis: What type of person your favorite character is.
Relationships: About the relationships our favourite character had in the story with other characters.
Opinion: What you think about the story.
Character names: a list of people in the story.
Setting: Where the story took place.
Title: Rename the title.
After we had drafted each section it we published on our foldout brochure. We drew illustrations of our favorite part of the story and our favorite character.
Then all we needed to do was draw the pictures and colour them in, do the front cover and colour that in too. Finally, we got our drafts and published foldout and then handed them into the teacher.
