'Chief' Noah

At the wharenui Te Tuhi told us all about when tribes went onto the marae. Te Tuhi acted as the chief of the tangatawhenua and I was the manuhiri chief.  He told us that the tagnatawhenua chief would place a leaf in front of the manuhiri chief.  If the chief did not take the token, all of the warriors, women and children would attack the visitors.  Since I took the token I was invited into the wharenui.  We all removed our shoes and entered.
