These are the photos that we managed to delete from the post that FInn and Halle wrote earlier about the lolly leis.
Room 19 students (and Room 15 when Mrs Hepi use to teach in that room) have been making lolly leis for years. At first we used to use glad wrap and whilst these looked pretty they were really environmentally unfriendly. Last year was the first time we made our leis using harakeke in keeping with our Enviro Schools vision. Lolly lei making is part of Room 19's story because it is something we do to help raise money at the gala for the school. The gala is part of our school culture as it has been happening for years and lots of people look forward to it every year. It is more than just raising money to buy all the things we need at school. It is an important event that brings together our school community and gives all our families an opportunity to be involved in helping the school.
good on you Room 19. The leis look very good. A little bit tempting but we will all wait for the Gala. Thanks Room 19 and Mrs Hepi.
