Wharenui
At Waitangi we went to a sacred marae. It had patterns all around. It also had carvings of all the chiefs in New Zealand. Te Tuhi said, "Who wants to be chief of this tribe! ' We all all put our hands up. "Noah will be a good one," said a random voice in the group. Te tuhi chose Noah and he went up and Mr T (Te Tuhi) said the maori will come do a dance and poke their tongue out and put a tike carving, and if you pick it up you will mean that you come as a friend not a foe. when te tuhi asked the boys to poke out their tongues and the girls to widen up their eyes and stare.you look like a monkey you should call your tribe, monkey tribe! when we went inside te tuhi sung a song and then he told us about the carvings and the patterns.
