Camp Speeches
One of the traditions of our camp at Kawau Island is our camp speech competition. Everyone has had two weeks to prepare a 2 minute speech on any topic. Each of us prepared and presented a speech on a huge range of topics - inventors, chocolate, family, sharks, the environment, rugby, cricket... Mrs Hepi had a hard job to select only five people to continue onto the camp competition. There will be five competitors each from Rooms 1 and 16 as well. Well, we did have a criteria which included speaking for 2 minutes and being assessed on our speaking voice and posture. There were lots of interesting, informative, funny and well written speeches but in the end the winners for Room 20 were the people who kept to time and were able to present their speech using cue cards and key ideas. One thing Mrs Hepi found out though was that lots of people in Room 20 have excellent, clear speaking voices. The people who will be presenting at camp are: Max, Alice, Natalie, Luke and Alexi.
