Kowhai Whanau Fun Day - St Patrick's Day

The whanau leaders, deputy leaders and committee members got together with Miss Smith to organise a range of games that could be played by all the children in Kowhai Whanau.   This was a great opportunity for our senior students to actively be tukana to the younger students - teina.  Tukana-teina is a very important part of our school culture as it reflects our motto - To Love, To Learn, To Server - Kia Aroha, Kia Akona, Kia Aro Atu. The team that created the games had to learn how to make a game that would suit all ages, they had to learn how teach the game to each group quickly before the rotation whistle blew and they had to manage the game the whole time.  The rest of the whanau just had to get out there and have a great time, which we did.

I believe Mrs D was singing a particular song about gumboots!
