Every concept we take part in activities that help us to start thinking about things. Last Friday, Kowhai Whanau had a Healthy Lunch Challenge. We had to think about the food we had for lunch being healthy. There were lots of healthy options including a beautiful rice teddy bear. We also had to make environmentally healthy choices for our planet by choosing ways of getting our lunch to school. Nearly everyone had reusable lunch boxes and hardly anyone used cling film to wrap their lunch. We had some very clever and inventive ideas - a lunch box made out of banana leaves, a cardboard box that was recycled and decorated, corn cob leaves were used to wrap up food to name a few. Well done, Kowhai Whanua.
